This hat doesn't look much to the naked eye but in the hands of Oddjob it was deadly. The inside of the hat was steel rimmed, and with great precision and accuracy, Oddjob threw his hat at his targets slicing their throat.
He uses his hat three times in the film, firstly to demonstrate to Bond on a stone statue that he shouldn't mess with the affairs of Goldfinger. Secondly he uses the hat to kill Tilly Masterson as she tries to make a run for it into some woods. Finally Oddjob tries to use his hat to kill Bond inside Fort Knox, but Bond manages to move out of the way, leaving the hat lodged between metal bars. Bond then uses a previously cut electrical cable (by Oddjob's hat) to electrocute Oddjob when he reaches for it. §
