Steven Obanno played by Isaach De Bankolé is the third villain of Casino Royale. Obanno is a leading member of a large army camp in Uganda. Through the advice of Mr White he arranges for Le Chiffre to collect a large some of money to invest. Sussing out Le Chiffre, Obanno confirms with him that he wants no risk in his portfolio and that he can access the money at any time, anywhere in the world. As soon as the money is loaded into Le Chiffre's 4x4, he buys against more stock in Skyfleet.

Later when Bond foils Le Chiffre’s plan to cripple Skyfleet, Le Chiffre holds a high-stakes poker game in Montenegro to recoup his losses. Obanno learns of Le Chiffre losing his money and through Valenka calls Le Chiffre back to his suite. Filled with rage Obanno strangles Le Chiffre who informs him that the money isn’t lost, and he will have it the next day. Obanno decides someone should lose an arm for this betrayal, but since Le Chiffre needs it to play cards, he decides to cut the arm of Valenka instead. It’s turns out to be a bluff when he stops at the last moment. Obanno tells Valenka to find herself a new boyfriend after Le Chiffre doesn’t say a word when her arm was about to be cut off.

Exiting Le Chiffre’s suite, Obanno and his bodyguard start to walk down the hall. The bodyguard notices Bond and Vesper Lynd kissing but walks on. It’s only when he sees that Bond is wearing an earpiece he draws his gun and fires, just missing Bond who instinctively moves. Bond then manages to throw the bodyguard through the middle of a large stairwell to the ground many stories below. Obanno then comes at Bond with a machete where a nasty fight works it way from the top of the stairs to the bottom. Bond eventually manages to gain the upper hand, and with a little assistance from Vesper, Obanno is strangled to death. §
