Pussy Galore played by Honor Blackman is first seen aboard Goldfinger’s private jet. Bond wakes up to find himself in a luxurious plane with a beautiful blonde standing before him.
When he enquires who she is, Honor Blackman says those famous lines "My name is Pussy Galore". Bond thinks he is dreaming, but Pussy informs him that the gun that shot him in Switzerland was only a tranquilliser.
Upon arrival at Goldfinger's stud farm Bond is locked in a cell. He escapes, but after learning of Goldfinger's plans in Operation Grand Slam, he is confronted by Pussy who escorts him back to his cell.
Goldfinger later on tells Pussy to keep James entertained whilst he deals with removing the late Mr Solo from his gold. They walk into a barn where Bond wants to get to know her more closely. Pussy however is not interested and tells 007 that it would take a lot more than he has got to interest her. Bond and Pussy then try to use their Judo skills to get the better of one another until Bond gets the upper hand and succeeds in seducing her.
Pussy is later seen at the end of the film when Bond boards a plane to meet with the President at the White House, Goldfinger once more shows his face. After overpowering Goldfinger, Bond and Pussy escape using a parachute. While Pussy tries to wave to the helicopter looking for them, Bond has other ideas.
Pussy Galore is only a shadow of her literary counterpart. While it is not mentioned in the film, Pussy was a lesbian. This is hinted when Bond tries to charm her, to which she replies "I'm immune". Bond not only succeeds in seducing her, but makes her call Washington to change the fatal nerve gas Delta 9 with a harmless sleep agent.
At 37, Honor Blackman was the oldest Bond Girl, but one of 007's most unforgettable lovers. The name Pussy Galore caused controversy in the 1960's and this is one of the elements that makes Pussy Galore so memorable. Honor Blackman is still a very charming, pleasant person today. §
